did you hear about ikuhara’s new anime? i thought abt you when i read the announcement
I DID! I’m very excited. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high, because I was left with very mixed feelings about Yuri Kuma Arashi, but I’m really looking forward to it. I’m making an Ikuhara bingo for when the trailer airs.
hola
hello friend
I noticed that you haven’t been making as many playlists as you used to. I was wondering if that’s because you’re just busy with other things or if you moved to Playmoss like everybody else, because I really love your taste in music!
i’m still on 8tracks! my OCD has been pretty bad lately and i’ve kind of become a huge perfectionist wrt making mixes? so like i have a ton of unpublished mixes that have been sitting around for literally years and idk when i’ll finish them. it’s really really sweet that you like my music taste though! that’s one of my favorite compliments to receive, especially because a lot of my favorite artists are relatively unknown and it makes me happy to think that i’m showing other people how great they are. i promise that i’ll still publish playlists whenever i can, just keep in mind that i’m prioritizing quality over quantity so they may take longer than they used to.
did u and ash break up?
not at all, we are still going strong. in fact, we’ll be seeing each other next week! she doesn’t really use tumblr anymore but we message each other every day.
have a amazing day
Thank you anon! Since you sent this 7 hours ago I have had an excellent day, so thank you for the good karma.
hi u r gay

none of that was relevant to what i said, boo! i just said that historically, the dehumanization, violence, and oppression that autistic people and schizophrenic people have faced was more extreme than people with adhd. that’s just facts have you studied disabled history?
wait i forgot to add something to that, i agree that we need to re-do the system, but still people who’re diagnosed with those disorders have been more ostracized.
I have studied the history of mental disability actually, and that’s why I understand that historically, neurodevelopmentally disabled people have not been differentiated between. It’s silly to argue that one group is more oppressed than the other when their exact qualifications as separate disorders have only recently developed. The level of comorbidity between symptoms of all neurodevelopmental disorders highlights how ridiculous it is to identify them on individual axes of oppression. I’m a visual learner so I typed this up from memory, please forgive me if I left out some symptoms:

This is what my post was referring to when I discussed symptom crossover. However, there is validity to what you’re saying, it’s just not exactly for the reason you may think. People with (only) ADHD are more likely to be capable of incorporating themselves into neurotypical society because ADHD is far more easily medicated. Since this medication is a recent development though, this has absolutely no historical context, so I don’t know why you would even bring that up. Anyway, the reason I forgot to bring this up sooner is because I was thrown off by your rudeness and got over-defensive. I’m sorry for that, but you should know that if you want to have a serious discussion about mental health, you ought to send a serious ask. My post was only addressing the continuous treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders as mental illnesses and the exclusionary nature of the term “allistic privilege,” which even you seem to agree with, as you consider schizophrenic people to be significantly oppressed as well. I don’t know if you misunderstood my post or if you were intentionally trying to get a rise out of me, but we do seem to be having two completely different arguments.
You had a good analysis on Mulan, what do you think of Jasmine?
I don’t exactly dislike her, but it’s hard to compare her to the other Disney princesses in terms of character development, because unlike most Disney princesses, she is not the protagonist of her film. The fact that Aladdin is the protagonist means that Jasmine doesn’t really do a whole lot for herself. She doesn’t have a character arc, and most of the active choices that she does make are at the beginning of the movie rather than throughout. I feel like she starts off as this really independent character who gets stuff done, then just kind of fades into the background over time. Once again, the fact that she’s not the protagonist means I should cut her a little slack; I mean, she definitely does more than Aurora, who’s supposedly the main character in her movie.
My other main issue with her is that her “arranged marriage” subplot is fairly sloppy; pushing aside the fact that the entire movie is highly westernized and pretty out-of-place historically, Jasmine is hailed as a feminist icon despite the fact that her marriage predicament is not really addressed as a gendered issue. The sultan isn’t shown to be misogynistic at all, the only friction he has with Jasmine is because he’s kind of a doofus. And then after he’s released from Jafar’s influence, the sultan just decides that it’s okay for Jasmine to marry Aladdin which is… painfully anti-climactic. There are two problems with this: 1) Jasmine doesn’t actually fight for herself on this issue, she just has the solution handed to her, and 2) it completely nullifies the concept of sexism as a systematic issue. The lesson turns from “misogynistic practices such as arranged marriage are ingrained in our culture, and we need to fight their widespread effects” to “Jafar is bad and evil and he did everything because he thought Jasmine was hot.” I think that the movie would have been better if the sultan had actually held sexist/classist ideals in the beginning and ultimately grown as a person thanks to Jasmine’s struggles, instead of just deciding “oh you can marry a commoner if you want!” on a whim. This isn’t exactly an issue with Jasmine’s character, it’s more an issue with the plot, but it definitely damages her role in the movie.
There are things that I like about her. I like how active she was in the beginning of the movie, deciding to run away and all that, and I would have loved to see those traits later in the film. I read somewhere that in the original script, Jasmine was supposed to use the sharp part of her crown to break out of Jafar’s hourglass on her own, and I’m upset that they changed that. I also like her wardrobe (despite all of her outfits pretty much being palette swaps) and I like the fact that she wears pants for most of the movie, even if they’re very feminine pants. This is also design related, but I really like her hair, it’s so bouncy and soft looking. Lastly, she has one of the best (i.e. least unbearable) animal sidekicks… I wish I had a pet tiger.

The Alice Mare fandom is pretty much nonexistent, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I do wish it was a bit bigger. It’s a pretty small game, but the characters and soundtrack are great.
