you know what’s more freeing than killing yourself? running away to a small town and getting a job as a waitress. buying a cheap car and sticking a bed in the back and driving southwest. adopting a cat. learning a new instrument. moving apartments. visiting a friend in another city. chopping all your hair off.

you can kill your current life without dying. you can kill this version of you and make a new one.

maybe I’m just a bipolar sucker for rebirth but sometimes that thought is all that keeps me alive

Mark Zuckerberg lost $119 Billion dollars on the stock market today (7/26/18). This is the largest loss of wealth in a single day in modern stock history.

This will literally not change his lifestyle or effect his livelihood at all. He is still a multi-billionaire.

If I worked every single day, for the rest of my life, at $15/hr – which is more than twice the national minimum wage – I would never make even 1/1000th the amount of just the money that Zuckerberg lost today.

If I worked every single day, for the entirety of the time that anatomically modern humans have existed (200,000 years) – at $15/hr – I would still not make one tenth of the amount of just the money he lost today.

And he is still a billionaire and will lose literally zero luxury or well-being from what happened today.

You want to know how absolutely grotesque modern wealth inequality is?

There you go.

For those saying they don’t understand, Triple Parentheses are a 100% antisemitic whistle used to infer to other Nazis and white supremacists that the person within the parentheses is Jewish.

can we like pleaseeeee stop including david bowie in our lists of “lgbt music icons” or whatever

he regularly had sex with groupie teens while he was in his 20s and 30s and he wasnt even bisexual, in a 1983 interview he said calling himself bisexual was the “biggest mistake he’s ever made” and in this 1993 interview he called himself a “closet heterosexual.” in the 1993 one he basically says that he just wanted the gay aesthetic without the lifestyle and frankly i just dont think its fair to keep lauding him and calling him and icon for something he wasnt, especially since he was a pedophile and even embraced it in everything but the word itself

it disturbs me that a lot of lesbians i talk to seem to think bi women dating men are in similar material positions to straight women. the reality is that regardless of a bi woman’s current or past relationship status, she will always share a fundamental level of understanding with me as a lesbian. certainly there are material benefits conferred on m/f relationships, but that doesn’t stop the woman in question from continuing to experience homophobia—particularly, though not exclusively, at the hands of her boyfriend! bi women are always treated differently than straight women and if your rhetoric obscures or denies that then it’s bad rhetoric.

anyway y’all have no problem when gay men doing drag use she/her but as soon as lesbians use he/him it’s suddenly a problem and a huge contradiction

realise that gender is part and parcel of heterosexuality and so lesbians necessarily navigate gender entirely differently than straight women

i think the “lesbians can’t use he/him” is absolutely implicit in wanting to keep us in a womanhood defined and ruled by heterosexuality. once we start to display us doing gender for ourselves, challenging and living with toxic heterosexual femininity: he/him lesbians, butches, etc. that’s when it gets out of hand for y’all

lesbians rejecting a womanhood that ties them to men because of gender, because of heterosexuality is not a bad thing, it’s not a contradiction, it makes perfect sense.

the policing of he/him lesbians is ironically completely bound up in misogyny: an anxiety to let lesbians do what they want and not consider men/heterosexuality and do gender on their own in their own way

same goes for the weirdness a lot of people have about “lesbians can’t be nb”

like lol yes they can

the move to always try and tie lesbians back on to a strict defined sense of womanhood makes lesbians parsable as Women in a purely heterosexual conception

if lesbians can’t be easily understood as women, then the male gaze can’t fetishise us, objectify us, make us two girls kissing for the pleasure of men. it’s a way of escape & of dealing with gendered trauma & of enacting subjectivity

lesbians know what they’re doing, leave us alone
